Saturday, September 15, 2012 - On Saturday evening, Engine 112 with a crew of 5 loaded up and headed across the bridge to fill in Cecil County Station 6(Perryville) while their members attended the annual banquet. Engine 112 was in station for about an hour when Rescue box 606 was alerted. Engine 112, Cecilton Truck 1, Paramedic 1, Rescue 6 and IV692 made the response. Paramedic 1 and Engine 112 arrived on the scene to find a 4 vehicle MVC with a large passenger van on its side with 2 trapped. Paramedic 1 quickly took patient care. The Engine driver placed a hand line in service for protection while the crew placed tools in-service and began to stabilize the car. Rescue 6 and Truck 1 arrived and assisted and provided more tools. Crews worked together on both ends of the van to quickly and safely remove the 2 trapped occupants. A total of 5 Ambulances and 1 Helicopter were on the scene to transport patients to local Trauma centers. Engine 112 and Truck 1 returned to station 6 to cover for the rest of the evening. Crews enjoyed dinner and some relaxing time. No other calls were run. We would like to thank Perryville for allowing us to cover their area for the evening.
IV191 transfered to Cecil Station 6 also untill EMS units were able to clear up and return to service.
